Web Page:
Take a look at mvaeromodelers.com. Improvements continue. Thank you Andrew.
Director of Fun Fly Position:
There was discussion about a possible new position called the Director of Fun Flys. This person would coordinate events at fun flys by asking or assigning people to be in charge of different aspects of a fun fly such as competitions, food, raffles, etc.
The get togethers on the last Saturday of the month will now be called club flies and will not have events. Fun Flys will be scheduled or announced separately and will be more formal in nature. Watch this space for more details.
Member Notes:
Cheryl Savello was awarded a Pilot of the Month Award for her willingness to participate and be a part of the club even though she has never gotten around to flying an RC aircraft. Someone should help her correct this deficit in her life experiences.
Remember the monthly fun fly on the last Saturday. This month it will be Saturday August 30th. (Note: Since the meeting, it was arranged to have another float fly on August 30th.
South side of Murtagh Lake at the old Boy Scout camp. Starts at 9 AM.)
Tech Presentation:
George Kudzma and Mark Metge teamed up to provide a terrific demonstration and discussion of 3-D printing and what they have been using it for in the hobby. It was an impressive presentation with many printed examples of RC related items they have printed. Thanks guys.
Raffle:
The raffle was gigantic with multiple planes, tools and building items donated by a number of members. We took in around $110.00 in raffle ticket sales.
Next meeting is Wednesday September 3rd.
